Overview

Supports the effective functioning of Tajikistan's National Trade Facilitation Committee Secretariat through analysis, coordination, monitoring and methodology development for trade and logistics reform meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyse and systematise incoming proposals for Committee consideration
  • Facilitate interagency discussions on foreign trade and logistics procedure simplification
  • Monitor implementation and timely completion of Committee decisions and actions
  • Coordinate with international partners and the Development Coordination Council
  • Develop methodologies and terms of reference for specialised working groups
  • Provide Committee members and officials with timely implementation status information

Requirements

  • University degree in economics, international trade, law, business administration or related fields
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in economic development
  • Knowledge of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, Tajikistan's obligations and the functions of the National Trade Facilitation Committee
  • Excellent research and technical writing skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Tajikistan's economy and trade
  • Professional fluency in Tajik and English
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and online databases

  • Ability to work with people of different cultural, religious and political backgrounds while maintaining impartiality
  • Ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities

Additional Info

  • Special Service Agreement for 90 days
  • Open only to citizens or permanent residents of Tajikistan
  • Position is based on-site in Tajikistan
