Validation of Dog-Mediated Rabies Elimination and Assessment of Bat Rabies Prevention Gaps in Trinidad and Tobago

The national consultant builds Trinidad and Tobago’s evidence dossier for WHO validation of dog-mediated human-rabies elimination, assessing programme governance, surveillance and control systems while identifying bat-rabies and wider zoonotic-response gaps.

• Prepare the WHO dog-mediated rabies elimination dossier
• Document unavailable evidence and programme information gaps
• Assess national rabies governance and cross-sector coordination
• Compile evidence on human and animal rabies-control activities
• Evaluate surveillance, diagnostics and post-verification readiness
• Recommend measures addressing bat-rabies and zoonotic-response gaps
• Deliver validated reports to PAHO and national authorities

• Bachelor’s degree in human or animal health sciences from a recognized institution
• At least seven years of national experience working with health-ministry programmes
• Experience in data analysis, impact assessment or comparable studies
• English proficiency

• National full-time off-site consultancy from 1 August 2026 through 8 January 2027
• Total contract value is TTD 201,000, paid against five accepted deliverables
