Social Protection Consultant

Provides technical support to strengthen social assistance preparedness and contingency planning for climate-related emergencies in Brazil, producing guidance that helps state and municipal systems anticipate and respond to shocks affecting children and families.

Department: Child Poverty and Social Protection Section

• Map existing social assistance contingency plans and practices in selected states and municipalities
• Prepare a diagnostic report with preliminary recommendations for contingency planning
• Draft technical guidelines for social assistance contingency plans
• Incorporate feedback from SNAS and stakeholders into the final guidance
• Support validation and dissemination of the final contingency-planning document

• Bachelor degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Political Science or another related field
• Minimum three years of professional experience with the Unified Social Assistance System at municipal or state level
• Fluency in Portuguese

• Consultancy duration is 3.5 months
• Open to Brazilian nationals only
