Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and report on project activities
  • Develop project timelines, budgets and reporting schedules
  • Conduct research and baselines on women's political participation and gender equality
  • Carry out in-country needs assessment missions and prepare reports
  • Organise workshops, trainings and briefings for MPs and parliamentary staff
  • Support women's parliamentary caucuses and gender sensitivity self-assessments
  • Maintain liaison between IPU, parliaments, Swedish missions and stakeholders
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and a final narrative report

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in political science or law
  • At least 10 years of experience in work related to gender equality or women's rights
  • At least five years of project management experience
  • Complete fluency in English
  • Excellent drafting skills in English
  • General computer skills, including MS Office applications and internet
  • Willingness and availability to travel extensively for in-country missions

  • Consultancy runs from 15 August 2026 to 31 December 2026 for up to 83 days
  • Initial five-month contract is renewable subject to performance and funding
  • Consultant may be home-based or based at IPU headquarters in Geneva
  • IPU will cover expenses for required missions
  • Independent contractor status; consultant is responsible for national income tax
