Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and report on project activities
- Develop project timelines, budgets and reporting schedules
- Conduct research and baselines on women's political participation and gender equality
- Carry out in-country needs assessment missions and prepare reports
- Organise workshops, trainings and briefings for MPs and parliamentary staff
- Support women's parliamentary caucuses and gender sensitivity self-assessments
- Maintain liaison between IPU, parliaments, Swedish missions and stakeholders
- Prepare monthly progress reports and a final narrative report
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in political science or law
- At least 10 years of experience in work related to gender equality or women's rights
- At least five years of project management experience
- Complete fluency in English
- Excellent drafting skills in English
- General computer skills, including MS Office applications and internet
- Willingness and availability to travel extensively for in-country missions

- Consultancy runs from 15 August 2026 to 31 December 2026 for up to 83 days
- Initial five-month contract is renewable subject to performance and funding
- Consultant may be home-based or based at IPU headquarters in Geneva
- IPU will cover expenses for required missions
- Independent contractor status; consultant is responsible for national income tax
