Overview
Serves as deputy within the Conduct and Discipline Service (Administrative Law Division, Office of Human Resources), leading policy development and advice on conduct and discipline matters affecting UN peace operations personnel, including responses to sexual exploitation and abuse. Monitors investigation reports, coordinates with mission conduct and discipline teams, and supervises outreach and training activities.

Responsibilities
- Initiate analysis and propose new conduct and discipline policies, liaising with mission Conduct and Discipline Teams and OIOS
- Provide advice on conduct and discipline issues to the Chief of CDS and serve as deputy within the Service
- Monitor and review investigation reports, Board of Inquiry reports and OIOS reports, taking action on disciplinary cases
- Coordinate policy development and ensure coherence across conduct-related policies for UN peace operations personnel
- Supervise preparation of background papers, reports, studies and publications
- Manage outreach activities including designing and conducting training workshops and seminars
- Guide, evaluate and mentor staff, leading data collection and analysis efforts
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in business/public administration, management, economics or related field; Bachelor's degree plus 2 additional years of relevant experience accepted in lieu
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, law, dispute resolution, project/programme management, administration or related area
- Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing problems relating to conduct and discipline matters
- Experience in or in support of Field Operations, particularly in complex emergencies or post-conflict environments
- Experience analyzing problems relating to law and/or conduct and discipline for uniformed personnel
