Senior Medical Officer

Provides clinical and occupational health services for staff of Vienna International Centre organizations. The officer treats and advises patients, manages emergencies and medical clearances, investigates workplace health risks, coordinates external care, supervises services and deputizes for the Medical Director.

Department: MTHR-VIC Medical Service

• Provide clinical examinations, treatment, immunisations and staff advice
• Counsel staff on travel and preventive medicine
• Deliver first aid and emergency treatment
• Lead health education and promotion programmes
• Coordinate referrals with specialists and medical institutions
• Investigate occupational and environmental health problems
• Oversee medical clearances, evacuations, disability and insurance cases
• Support management and supervision of VIC medical services
• Deputise for the Medical Director

• Medical degree with current medical registration
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible clinical experience
• International-level clinical experience
• Ability to make independent medical decisions

• Fixed-term regular appointment for 36 months
• Subject to IAEA rotation policy
• Selection may generate a roster for similar future staffing needs
