The Senior Communications Assistant supports UNHCR regional communications across Asia and the Pacific, including media monitoring, social media implementation, content reporting, digital asset management and website maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor media, social media and local developments regarding UNHCR
  • Support administrative and logistical arrangements for press briefings, workshops and conferences
  • Contribute to information materials, reports, newsletters and public awareness products
  • Draft routine correspondence and website texts and maintain information databases
  • Compile and distribute daily news clipping services
  • Support implementation of UNHCR communications and social media strategies
  • Curate and create trend, performance metric and activity reports
  • Support digital asset management, photo and video archiving, and regional website maintenance

Requirements

  • Two years of relevant experience with a high school diploma, or one year of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or higher
  • Some work experience relevant to the position
  • Communication and computer skills
  • Excellent drafting skills and translation and interpreting skills
  • Strong written and oral English
  • Staff in the General Service category must have a permit to work in Thailand
