Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Sahel Flagship Unit and supervise staff across complex projects
- Manage high-level donor relationships and ensure transparent reporting and timely milestone delivery
- Coordinate partnerships with African Union, PAGGW, CILSS, OSS, FAO and other regional and international organisations
- Direct implementation and evaluation of flagship initiatives and ensure measurable project impacts
- Coordinate LOGME II project implementation and moderate steering and advisory committee work
- Lead resource mobilisation through investor conferences, funding strategies and bankable project portfolios
- Facilitate National Coalitions across all 11 Great Green Wall countries through ministerial and decision-maker engagement
- Oversee budget management, financial oversight and donor compliance for the unit portfolio
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in business administration, management, public administration, international relations, economics, environmental science, sustainable development or related field, or first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in programme or project planning and management, with at least three years in a supervisory or leadership capacity, in sustainable development, land restoration, climate adaptation, international development cooperation or related field
- Experience implementing large-scale complex projects and promoting partnerships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience in high-level donor relationship management and resource mobilisation
- English is required
