Responsibilities

  • Review and approve social and environmental screening procedures
  • Monitor SESP implementation and guide safeguards management plans
  • Coordinate grievance redress and stakeholder response mechanisms
  • Quality-assure environmental and social assessments and risk instruments
  • Design and deliver SES training for personnel and partners
  • Coordinate with UN agencies, donors and stakeholders on safeguards

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in environmental studies, social sciences, international development or a related field, or bachelor's degree with two additional years of experience
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience with a master's degree or seven years with a bachelor's degree
  • Experience implementing environmental and social safeguards and accountability mechanisms
  • Fluency in English is required
