Overview
The Procurement Officer will lead regional procurement services for FAO in Santiago, managing solicitations, evaluations, contracts, Letters of Agreement and procurement committees. The role will advise offices, strengthen controls, develop staff and ensure fair, sustainable and compliant sourcing.

Responsibilities
- Advise regional offices through all stages of the procurement cycle
- Prepare solicitations and manage transparent bid and proposal evaluations
- Submit cases to procurement committees and serve as Regional Committee Secretary
- Conduct market research and execute buyer functions under FAO rules
- Review Letters of Agreement and high-value subcontracting arrangements
- Lead the regional procurement team and oversee international procurement personnel
Requirements
- Advanced degree in law, administration, finance, economics, commerce, marketing or a related field with seven years of procurement experience, or first degree with nine years and an eligible professional qualification
- At least three years of supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of English
- Intermediate knowledge of one other FAO official language
