Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed mechanical designs for schools, hospitals, clinics, shelters, warehouses and rehousing projects
- Maintain standard mechanical details and review drawings prepared by technical assistants and CAD staff
- Prepare mechanical tender specifications, non-standard item descriptions and Bills of Quantities inputs
- Research emerging models, materials and techniques for environmental and safety improvements
- Provide technical advice and special design for Agency premises alteration works
- Liaise with construction teams on mechanical design issues and update as-built drawings
- Draft terms of reference and supervise consultants for mechanical works
Requirements
- University degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or institution
- At least 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in design for public buildings and developmental projects
- Experience with mechanical design software and computer-aided design such as AutoCAD and other software
- English and Arabic are required
- Open to internal candidates only
- Candidates must reside in Amman within commuting distance of the duty station and have authorisation to work in Jordan at application

Additional info
- Fixed-term appointment for 1 year with possible extension subject to funds, performance and continuing need
- Monthly basic salary is JD 919.80 plus 60% special occupation allowance
- Benefits include provident fund contribution, compulsory medical insurance, 30 days annual leave and dependency allowance if applicable
- The incumbent may be required to travel outside the field in the area of operations on duty
