Laboratory Technician

Supports the UNODC Laboratory and Scientific Service by preparing training samples and field identification kits, conducting laboratory analyses, supporting proficiency-test materials, managing laboratory inventory and updating programme databases.

Department: Laboratory and Scientific Service

• Prepare and deliver Laboratory and Scientific Service training activities, samples, materials and logistics
• Analyse samples and materials using laboratory instrumentation and colour tests
• Prepare, bottle and label solutions and test reagents for UNODC drug and precursor test kits
• Assemble and prepare field identification kits for distribution
• Prepare, label, weigh, assemble, pack and ship ICE test samples and reference materials
• Support laboratory housekeeping, procurement and inventory management
• Use and update databases for laboratory, training and programme activities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one year of relevant experience working in a laboratory environment in natural or life sciences
• Fluency in English

• Expected contract duration: 7 September 2026 to 18 December 2026
• Local individual contractor assignment
