Japan Outreach Communications Assistant

Supports Japanese communications and outreach through social media, web content, translation, events and communications products for UNU audiences in Japan and globally.

Department: Office of Communications

• Manage, edit and post Japanese social media content for UNU accounts
• Develop and disseminate Japanese website content for projects, publications, events and activities
• Draft social media strategies and campaigns to increase engagement with Japanese audiences
• Support logistics, promotion, registration and same-day delivery for online and in-person outreach events
• Translate English materials into Japanese and draft, edit and proofread content in both languages
• Compile and coordinate Japanese communications products including newsletters, annual report content and research commentary

• High school diploma or bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Applied Languages, Digital Marketing or a related discipline
• High school diploma holders must have two years of relevant working experience in communications or social media
• Exemplary Japanese and English reading, speaking and writing skills
• Experience with social media monitoring tools
• Demonstrated ability to create social content for various platforms and audiences
• Experience working in teams and in a multicultural context

• Annual net salary is JPY 4,324,000-4,932,000

• Initial PSA contract duration is 1 year, renewable subject to requirements and performance
