Internship with a Focus on Grave Human Rights Violations

The internship will support OHCHR work on grave human rights violations by assisting the Security and Justice Unit with research, meetings, documents and communications.

Department: Security and Justice Unit

• Assist the Security and Justice Unit
• Support planning of agendas, meetings and events related to the unit work
• Research topics related to the unit, including transparency requests and media monitoring
• Help prepare notes, internal communications, presentations and other documents
• Support other tasks needed to achieve OHCHR objectives

• Current master's student in a social science such as law, sociology, international relations, political science or a related field, or current or recent final-year bachelor's student in one of those fields
• Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required

• Expected duration: 17 August 2026 to 14 March 2027
• Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations
• Travel, visa, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or sponsoring institutions
• Non-citizens or non-permanent residents may need appropriate visa and work authorisation
