Overview

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyse and finalize annual programme plans and revisions
  • Provide substantive support to intergovernmental and expert bodies reviewing programme plans and budgets
  • Review cost estimates and budget proposals for staff and non-staff requirements
  • Issue allotments, authorize sub-allotments and monitor budget implementation
  • Administer extra-budgetary resources and review agreements and cost plans
  • Prepare budget performance submissions and financial reports
  • Advise and train office staff on budgetary and financial policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field, or first-level university degree with 2 additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, administration, budget, business administration or a related area
  • Experience preparing programme plans and budgets and coordinating budget and funding submissions, progress reports and financial statements
  • Experience as a user of an Enterprise Resource Planning system or similar system
  • English at UN Level II is required
