Manage the Community Engagement and Accountability unit and its operational budget
Coordinate community engagement activities and Community Action Plans across IOM Afghanistan
Develop mission-wide approaches for community assessment, planning and monitoring
Provide training and technical guidance on community mobilisation and stakeholder coordination
Design context-specific community engagement strategies for Afghanistan
Develop tools for social cohesion, climate action, accountability and gender mainstreaming
Build communication mechanisms to identify and address accountability concerns
Coordinate with safeguarding colleagues on awareness and communication about prohibited conduct
Requirements
Master's degree in social or political science, international development, international law or a related field with five years of relevant professional experience, or a university degree with seven years
At least five years of relevant experience providing technical input and capacity development in community assessment and engagement processes
Experience coordinating with actors in sustainable reintegration, resilience, social cohesion and basic services
Experience establishing and maintaining community feedback or accountability mechanisms
Fluency in English

Experience across the humanitarian-development-peacebuilding nexus
Experience with the UN system or INGOs
Experience in area-based response in humanitarian and development settings
Experience working in Afghanistan or a similar context
Working knowledge of another official UN language, Dari or Pashto
