Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate labour mobility project implementation
  • Monitor project activities and recommend implementation adjustments
  • Compile and analyse national, regional and international migration information
  • Monitor budget expenditures and project budget revisions
  • Coordinate financial, administrative and technical aspects under IOM and donor requirements
  • Plan and conduct capacity-building workshops and trainings
  • Organise stakeholder meetings and networking events
  • Prepare correspondence, briefing notes, presentations and reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field with five years of relevant professional experience, or high school diploma with seven years of relevant experience
  • Experience liaising with government authorities, national and international institutions, UN agencies and NGOs
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking or other vulnerable groups
  • Solomon Islands nationality is required
  • Fluency in English and Pijin is required

Skills & Tools

Considerations

  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, NGOs or government institutions in a multicultural setting
  • Prior work with return migrant workers in Solomon Islands or participation in labour mobility schemes

Additional Info

  • Initial contract duration is nine months
  • Offer is subject to funding confirmation
  • Recommended candidates may remain eligible for similar positions for 24 months
  • Appointment is subject to medical fitness, accreditation, residence, visa and security clearances
