Overview
Strengthens programme quality, implementation oversight and accountability across UNICEF Nigeria's WASH portfolio, supporting the Chief WASH in managing the section and improving risk-informed planning and monitoring. Based in Abuja with significant travel to Maiduguri and other conflict-affected areas, the role oversees contract management, compliance and construction quality to achieve sustainable results for children.

Responsibilities
- Support the Chief WASH in managing the WASH section and programme implementation
- Improve consistency and quality of WASH infrastructure and services across programme areas
- Strengthen monitoring, documentation and verification of programme results
- Provide authoritative advisory services to government and sector support agencies
- Oversee contract management, risk mitigation and construction quality assurance
- Travel regularly to Maiduguri and other conflict-affected areas for field oversight
Requirements
- Master's degree (Advanced University Degree) in Public Health, Social Science, Construction Management, Sanitary/Civil Engineering, MBA or related field
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in WASH, construction oversight, internal controls and contract management
- Proficient/fluent in English
