Responsibilities

  • Review evidentiary materials in Rohingya and Burmese to identify relevant exculpatory and inculpatory material
  • Maintain a glossary of specialised Rohingya, Burmese and Rakhine terms
  • Contribute contextual and geographic analysis to investigations focused on Rakhine State
  • Advise on witness interview plans and topics of questioning
  • Support witness interview teams on geography and language matters
  • Identify search terms and relevant sources for evidence review
  • Coordinate with analysts, investigators, legal officers and supervisors on internal guidelines

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Asian studies, conflict or security studies, information management, international criminal law, social science or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least five years of experience on political, human rights, humanitarian or security matters relating to Rakhine State
  • Experience in investigation, documentation, research data management or analysis work
  • Fluency in English, Burmese and Rohingya
