Project Coordinator

Leads regional coordination and quality assurance for UNDRR projects on disaster preparedness, risk knowledge and early warning across Latin America and the Caribbean, aligning delivery with Sendai Framework and donor priorities.

Department: Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean

• Lead project planning, implementation, monitoring, deliverables and financial management
• Coordinate subregional workstreams and contributions to risk-knowledge products
• Serve as liaison with DG ECHO, intergovernmental organizations, United Nations agencies and funded partners
• Coordinate EU-LAC technical-secretariat work and high-level dialogues
• Quality-assure risk assessments, early-warning stocktakes and technical outputs
• Advise regional and country teams on disaster preparedness, anticipatory action and humanitarian linkages
• Produce progress reports, results tracking and donor-compliance reporting
• Lead internal coordination meetings, communications visibility and impact storytelling

• At least seven years of project-management experience
• At least five years of experience in disaster-risk reduction, humanitarian action, preparedness or resilience
• Proven experience leading multi-country or regional programmes
• Strong coordination and stakeholder-engagement skills
• Excellent oral and written English and Spanish
• Excellent drafting, reporting and document-production skills

• UN Volunteer assignment based in Panama City
• The role supports regional implementation of ECHO disaster-preparedness and Early Warnings for All initiatives
• Panama City is classified as an A family duty station
