Overview

Supports UNEP’s biodiversity and land-degradation portfolio in Abidjan through coordination, budgeting and results tracking. The assistant researches project data, monitors resources and spending, prepares revisions and reports, processes implementation actions, maintains records and produces visualizations and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate programme planning, preparation and implementation actions
  • Research and summarize project information and data
  • Prepare and analyze project budgets and revised estimates
  • Track outputs, resources, expenditures, obligations and deviations
  • Process financial authorizations and verify fund availability
  • Coordinate performance reporting and resolve implementation follow-up
  • Maintain project files, databases and administrative records
  • Develop reports, statistical tables, visualizations and communication materials

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training in administration, accounting, finance or a related field
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible programmatic, administrative or technical support experience, reduced to five years with a first-level university degree
  • Programme or project monitoring and evaluation experience
  • English at UN Level II across reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • French at UN Level II across reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Authorization to work at the duty station
