Media Intelligence Officer

Strengthens WHO AFRO emergency communications by developing content, media intelligence, digital outreach and strategic visibility for the EPR Cluster and Regional Emergency Director’s Office.

Department: Emergency Preparedness and Response Cluster

• Develop and disseminate high-impact communication products on EPR priorities and achievements
• Draft speeches, talking points, briefing notes, donor visibility materials and web stories
• Support emergency risk communication and strategic messaging during outbreaks and crises
• Implement communication and visibility plans for high-level meetings and donor engagements
• Coordinate media engagement and aligned messaging with WHO AFRO communications colleagues
• Manage digital content for X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and other channels
• Monitor social media trends, analytics and audience engagement
• Support communication sensitization initiatives for EPR staff

• At least 3 years of professional work experience in communications, public relations or related programmes
• Exceptional writing and communication skills for translating complex ideas to lay audiences
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a track record of creating and strengthening partnerships
• Ability to work and produce results under pressure
• Sound understanding of the impact of emergencies and crises on social and economic development
• Experience working in Africa and understanding diverse workplace challenges and opportunities
• Solid computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications, email and internet

• International UN Volunteer assignment based in Brazzaville
• Role may require flexibility to work in harsh or potentially hazardous conditions
