Overview
Supports the secretariat of the Convention on the Transboundary Effects of Industrial Accidents through meeting preparation, research, capacity-building support and communications on industrial accident prevention and response.

Responsibilities
- Support organization and preparation of the Convention's Conference of the Parties and seminar on chemicals safety
- Prepare draft presentations and inputs for reports, documents and project proposals
- Conduct research and analytical work on environmental and industrial safety topics
- Support meetings of the Convention's subsidiary bodies and contribute background inputs and follow-up
- Assist capacity-building activities and projects under the Assistance and Cooperation Programme
- Identify linkages with the SDGs, Sendai Framework and other international policy processes
- Update Convention web content and propose usability and accessibility improvements
- Prepare communication materials, press releases, meeting minutes and publication proofreading
Requirements
- Enrolment in or completion of a graduate school programme, or enrolment in the final academic year of a first university degree programme
- Computer literacy in standard software applications
- Environmental studies, economics, international relations, international law, social or political studies or equivalent are required
- Fluency in English is required

- Internship duration is three months within 14 September to 13 December 2026
- Interns work five days per week
- Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations
- Travel, visa, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or sponsoring institutions

- Interns must show proof of valid medical insurance coverage and provide a medical certificate of good health
