Overview

Supports UNDSS security operations and safety management for UN personnel in the Santiago area of responsibility. The role gathers security information, maintains security plans, supports risk measures, coordinates liaison and provides security administration.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, update and communicate information on the security situation in the area of responsibility
  • Liaise with host-government security organisations, military and police officers and relevant non-governmental organisations
  • Support security assessments, verification of security information and advice to UN agencies
  • Maintain and update the security plan, staff lists and implementation of security risk-management measures
  • Report security incidents and prepare security incident reports and security assessments
  • Organize security awareness training, preparedness courses, orientations and briefings
  • Maintain warden, pass, ID, contact and security company liaison systems

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Seven years of work experience in security, risk, disaster or emergency areas with security responsibilities, reduced to five years with a first-level university degree
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • English required
  • Spanish required
  • Authorization to work for the UN in Chile
