Field Coordinator

Coordinates humanitarian response, information management, advocacy and resource mobilisation for OCHA Sudan, supporting emergency assistance, partner coordination and field reporting in Khartoum.

Department: OCHA Sudan

• Coordinate delivery of humanitarian and emergency assistance for complex emergency situations
• Lead or support rapid assessments, situation reports and contextual analysis
• Support humanitarian coordination mechanisms and partner engagement
• Collect and analyse information on humanitarian developments and emergency situations
• Maintain information networks, contact lists, locality profiles and who-does-what-where data
• Support advocacy and prepare reports, background papers, presentations and communications
• Assist production of humanitarian appeals and support proper use of funds

• Degree area in political or social sciences, law, international studies, public administration or a related field
• At least two years of professional experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis or relief management, preferably with a UN organisation or NGO
• Excellent oral and written drafting and reporting skills
• Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic
• Computer literacy including MS Office applications, email and internet
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and tight deadlines

• Field-based assignment with potentially hazardous and remote conditions
• Position focuses on Al Jazeera, Khartoum, Northern and River Nile States
