Responsibilities
- Coordinate delivery of humanitarian and emergency assistance for complex emergency situations
- Lead or support rapid assessments, situation reports and contextual analysis
- Support humanitarian coordination mechanisms and partner engagement
- Collect and analyse information on humanitarian developments and emergency situations
- Maintain information networks, contact lists, locality profiles and who-does-what-where data
- Support advocacy and prepare reports, background papers, presentations and communications
- Assist production of humanitarian appeals and support proper use of funds
Requirements
- Degree area in political or social sciences, law, international studies, public administration or a related field
- At least two years of professional experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis or relief management, preferably with a UN organisation or NGO
- Excellent oral and written drafting and reporting skills
- Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic
- Computer literacy including MS Office applications, email and internet
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and tight deadlines
