District Cooling Consultant

Provides technical, organisational and advocacy support to accelerate district cooling investment, knowledge sharing and stakeholder engagement in India through UNEP, the Cool Coalition and partner offices.

Department: Cities Unit, Mitigation Branch, Climate Change Division

• Support UNEP projects scaling up district cooling in India as part of a comprehensive approach to cooling in buildings
• Provide technical expertise and organisational support for stakeholder engagement and advocacy
• Develop, refine and disseminate knowledge products, training materials, communication pieces and draft recommendations
• Map and engage urban planning, engineering, real-estate, industry, contractor and facility-management stakeholders
• Organise and technically support capacity-building and strategic communication events
• Coordinate with local and international stakeholders to ensure high-quality outputs
• Ensure timely delivery of work packages, outputs and deliverables in the project work plan

• First-level university degree recognised by the United Nations
• At least five years of relevant experience, preferably in market research, stakeholder mapping and engagement or strategic communication
• Expertise on India and experience engaging government, industry, finance and academia in India
• Experience on district cooling market development in India and engaging multiple stakeholders in project development and partnership building
• Fluency in written and oral English

• The assignment supports district cooling in India and globally in collaboration with UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre
