Disease Advisor, Malaria

Provides malaria technical advice across Global Fund investments, supporting countries, grant teams and partners on vector control, chemoprevention or epidemiology to improve programme performance and innovation uptake.

Department: Strategic Investment and Impact Division

• Provide technical advice informed by country experience, partner guidance and programme performance data
• Support malaria expertise throughout the grant lifecycle and identify reprogramming opportunities
• Coordinate with technical and functional teams to strengthen health systems, equity and community engagement
• Advise on procurement, supply planning and innovation for malaria health products
• Analyse malaria programme and epidemiological data to identify investment gaps and portfolio opportunities
• Contribute to Global Fund policies, guidelines, operational documents and capacity building
• Coordinate malaria partnerships through committees, working groups and technical-assistance mechanisms
• Lead thematic technical inputs for new malaria tools and market-shaping initiatives

• Advanced university degree in medicine, applied entomology or a related field with extensive experience in vector control, epidemiology, public health or infectious diseases
• Experience in technical roles working with national malaria programmes in developing countries
• Experience working in malaria at national and international levels
• Understanding of the international health arena and direct exposure to national and international health environments
• Experience providing technical advice and collaborating with stakeholders across teams, departments and divisions
• Excellent knowledge of English

• Grade band: GL-D
• Defined-duration appointment until December 2028 for two positions
• Focus area may be vector control, chemoprevention or epidemiology and data analytics
• Subject to change by the Executive Director at their discretion
